Spring Birding Tour

Details

Spring brings tens of thousands of ducks, swans, geese, wading birds, shorebirds, raptors, and songbirds as they migrate through Nayanquing Point State Wildlife Area.

Join Michigan Department of Natural Resources for a car-caravan-style birding tour of this birding hotspot. This is a globally recognized Audubon Important Bird Area of Saginaw Bay.

Participants will drive their own cars to key birding locations throughout the 1,505-acre wildlife area. Stops will include wetlands, marsh unites, and the viewing tower at the end of Kitchen Road.

Meet at DNR Field Office, doors open at 8:00 AM and tour departs at 9:00 AM. Restrooms, water, coffee and light snacks will be available before the tour departs.

Please bring your own binoculars or a scope if you have them. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes as the dikes are unpaved with uneven ground. The viewing tower is ADA accessible, but the parking lot is graveled.
