The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was formed in 1975. The main focus of the Saginaw DDA is to bolster economic development, redevelopment and activity within the DDA district. The DDA utilizes tax increment financing (TIF) to create and implement development plans. Public meeting are held the 4th Tuesday of every month at 3:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers. Board Members are volunteers with vested interest in Downtown Saginaw and are appointed by the City Council. The DDA is manage by Saginaw Future Inc., which is the economic development organization for Saginaw county. The Saginaw DDA seeks to achieve the following goals by working with the community and community partners: -Increase jobs in the DDA district. -Attract new business, business expansion and economic opportunity in the DDA District. -Redevelopment of blighted properties in DDA district.
