Defoe Park is adjacent to Marquette Avenue. The 11-acre park has five baseball diamonds that are leased to the Little League. The original 3-acre property was given to the city by the North American Construction Company in 1914. The company stipulated that the land be used for "playground or park purposes" and went by the name of Aladdin Park. It was later renamed Defoe Park in honor of Harry Defoe of the Defoe Shipbuilding Company.
