The Frank N. Andersen Celebration Park is home to Saginaw's new Splash Park. The Splash Park is part of the larger 4-acre Park, which features a 15,000 ft. skateboard and inline skate park, a picnic area with a 40' steel-framed, cedar-interior pavilion with picnic tables, Bocce ball courts with provided seating, and a European-style playscape complete with three slides and a rock-climbing wall. The Park also features a quarter mile of walking paths and benches along Linton Lake for leisurely strolls and nature watching. The Lake Linton Boardwalk is approximately 150 feet long by 12 feet wide and is handicap-accessible. The Boardwalk provides areas to view the Millennium Fountain, the Gothic architecture of the City's Water Treatment Plant, and the various wildlife that call this area home, including a pair of American Bald Eagles. The Splash Park is a free, water recreation facility conveniently located in downtown Saginaw in close proximity to other great attractions such as the Saginaw YMCA, the Garber Tennis courts, Crayola Park, Ojibway Island, the Saginaw Children's Zoo, and much more. This innovative new park not only provides hours of fun for children and relief from the heat, but also seeks to enhance children's sensory skills and mobility through its unique water features. The filtered-water, zero-depth splash pad features three sections, each tailored to different age groups and activity levels. Discovery Bay caters to infants and toddlers with non-threatening water misters and low pressure fountains such as the Tot Twister, Magic Mist, Foaming Geyser, Power Volcano, and Water Jelly. Discovery Bay provides a friendly environment for children's first water play experiences. The second section of the Splash pad, Adventure Bay, caters to young children, providing larger water fountains, showers, and dumping buckets such as an Orbit mister, a Water Tunnel, Palm Tree fountains, the Huddle and Cylinder Sprays, a Bullfrog mister, the Fire Hydrant and Dragon gushers, a Rainforest water pourer, a Donut Spray, and Power Volcanos. This pad provides an exhilarating world of fun, exploration, and non-stop thrills and spills! The third section of the Splash pad, Action Bay, accommodates older children and allows them to interact with adjustable water soakers and larger water features such as Ground Geysers and Spray Cannons. This high-energy group play area provides hours of exhilarating, action-packed summer fun. The Frank N. Andersen Celebration Park provides ample parking space and is accessible by public transit, so beat the heat at the Splash Park and enjoy some great fun in the sun! All children ages 0-5 years or not potty trained are required to wear swimmer diapers. NO charcoal grills are allowed in the park.
